Meet The Team

Director
Olivia Dockins
I am the main editor and coordinator for the documentary. I work closely with our producer to help the vision come to life. I keep our team in line throughout all aspects of the project.
Coming from such a small town, this documentary is very important to me and my upbringing. I want to bring more attention to the smaller towns and our culture. With the ever changing government and new laws being passed every day, I don't want my school to be the next to close.

Executive Producer
Jacob Cater
I am the producer of “Death In The Delta”. I am in charge of scheduling interviews, gathering information, and organizing the documentary itself. I have the vision of what the documentary should look like and try my hardest to make sure that vision is carried out.
This documentary is important to me because the topic is something that affects my family and I directly. My grandfather’s stories from his days attending a high school that has been closed is what inspired me to create this film. I hope that by watching this, people will realize that small communities are the heart of our great state and that when the small community schools close, the towns they were in die off. I am thankful to have a great team behind me to make this documentary possible.

Director Of Photography and Graphic Design
Reika Sakai
I work as a graphic designer and assistant in filming and post-production. My role involves shaping the visual identity of the documentary and supporting the storytelling process. This project explores how school consolidation affects entire communities, not only through economic or population shifts, but also the loss and preservation of collective memory. I hope that our documentary trigger and encourage conversations about the long-term impact of these changes among the next generations.

Culture Coordinator
Tiárnan O’Móngain
I am part of the team as the team’s Culture Coordinator. My role ensures the team is in high spirits in order to best execute their respective roles. Due to prior commitments, I wasn’t able to attend every session; the ones I was able to attend were always electric.
This topic was particularly interesting as, being from London, I wasn’t used to seeing whole towns getting cleared with hardly anyone left. This gave me a lot of perspective that I’m grateful for.

Camera Operator
Sooyeong Choi
I was responsible for the camera in our documentary production team, including setting up equipment, filming interviews, and capturing B-roll footage. Through this project, I gained valuable teamwork experience and learned how to collaborate effectively to bring ideas to life. I also developed a stronger understanding of the production process, from planning shots to executing creative concepts. Overall, this experience strengthened both my technical skills and my ability to work in a team. I am grateful of my creative and passionate teammates. This documentary holds tremendous meaning for me as it is the first documentary I have created as part of a team.
